Problem

- The shop faced problems with poor air movement and ventilation, affecting employee comfort and work efficiency.
- During summer, the shop ceiling absorbs heat which increases the temperature at ground level.
- The increased temperature inside the shop reduces employee productivity and working comfort.
Solution
- Installed 4 × Epoch 3.0 24-ft HVLS Fans with the following specifications:
- Motor : Epoch 3.0
- Coverage Area : 30,000 Sq. Ft. (2,787 Sq. m)
- Speed : 62 RPM
- Peak Power : 1.5 kW / 2 hp
- The 24-ft Epoch HVLS fans provide strong airflow and improved ventilation for large industrial areas.
Site Survey
A site survey is mandatory before any HVLS fan recommendation. The survey revealed the following dimensions:
- Total Area : 230 ft × 164 ft = 37,720 Sq. Ft.
- Floor to Ceiling Distance : 35 – 40 ft
- Recommended Fan Size : 24-ft HVLS fan
Test Reports
Power Consumption Report
Power consumption report captures both real and apparent power. Epoch HVLS fans feature active power factor correction ensuring both values remain nearly identical. Power measured at 23, 32, 42, 52 and 62 RPM was 118 W, 210 W, 398 W, 750 W and 1070 W respectively.
Input Current Report
Input current measured at 23, 32, 42, 52 and 62 RPM was 0.9 A, 1.02 A, 1.93 A, 3.15 A and 5.11 A respectively. Input voltage during testing varied between 230 V and 240 V.
Air Flow Report
Airflow was measured from the center of the fan up to a distance of 30 ft. Values recorded were 190, 269, 285, 326, 418, 405, 375, 348, 259 and 275 ft/min at distances of 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27 and 30 ft respectively.
