- Lowest Weight
- Active Power Factor Corrected
Industry
- Industrial
Location
- India
Product
- Epoch 20-ft 5-Blades 60 RPM HVLS Fan with Epoch 2.0 Motor and Controller - 90Nm / 1.1kW / 1.5 hp
Problem
- HP Pelzer Automotive Pvt. Ltd manufactures car parcel shelf, floor insulation rear and car boot floor cover in Pune, Maharashtra.
- During summer there is intense heat in the Chakan area and lack of air movement causes discomfort for workers.
- Machines operate continuously for 24 hours causing heat accumulation. Coolers and pedestal fans occupy floor space and affect operations.
- The industry needed a better solution to provide strong airflow and reduce worker discomfort while improving productivity.
Solution
- Epoch 2.0 20-ft HVLS fan installed with the following specifications:
- Motor : Epoch 2.0
- Coverage Area : 18,000 Sq. Ft. (1,672 Sq. m)
- Speed : 60 RPM
- Peak Power : 1.1 kW / 1.5 hp
- The 20-ft fan provides powerful airflow and high efficiency, improving working conditions across the facility.
Site Survey
A site survey is mandatory before any HVLS fan recommendation. The survey revealed the following dimensions:
- Total Area : 82 ft × 49 ft = 4,018 Sq. Ft.
- Floor to Ceiling Distance : 30 – 32 ft
- Rule of thumb : Distance / 1.5 ≈ fan diameter
- Recommended Fan Size : 20-ft HVLS fan
Test Reports
Three test reports are collected for each fan installation.
Power Consumption Report
Power consumption captures both real and apparent power. Epoch HVLS fans feature active power factor correction and near unity power factor. Power measured at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 RPM was 360 W, 440 W, 597 W, 765 W and 970 W respectively.
Input Current Report
Input current measured at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 RPM was 0.76 A, 1.2 A, 2.4 A, 3.8 A and 4.7 A respectively. Input voltage during testing varied between 230 V and 240 V.
Air Flow Report
Airflow measured from the center of the fan at every 3-ft distance up to 30-ft. Recorded airflow values were 220, 260, 390, 452, 480, 550, 460, 380, 260 and 240 ft/min.
